A Case of Infantile Hemangioendothelioma of the Liver

Abstract
Infantile hemangiocndothelioma of the live is the most common primary vascular neoplasm in infancy and early childhood. It is considered a benign tumor, but rarely distant metastasis has been reported. Most infantile hemangioendotheliomas (87%)
occurred
before the patient was 6 months of age. The female to male ratio is 1.4:1 or more. No racial predilection or genetic transmission is known. The presenting symptom was unexpected mass or abdominal complaint. Infantile hemangioendothelioma can be
either
solitary or multicentric.
Multicentric infantile hemangioendothelioma is more common and majority of them have cutaneous hemangioma. Solitary infantile hemangioendothelioma of the liver is uncommon lesion and associated with a better prognosis because congestive heart
faillure
is less common. We have experienced one case of solitary infantile hamangioendothelioma of the liver in 10 day-old female. We also discussed CT findings, and pathologic aspects in relation to differential diagnosis.
